Most old literature is a slog, even the famous ones
Being long and dead is not the same as being good.
This hill is unclaimed. Nobody is willing to die on it. Yet. First blood pending.
- Pay, and you hold it.

- Every claim stays on the record.
No claims on the record.
The other side
These books survived by being reprinted and passed hand to hand for centuries, at real expense, by readers who had cheaper entertainment available. Dickens sold in installments to people who waited months for the next one. The slog is usually a pacing mismatch: sentences built for slow attention, read against a phone-trained clock. Give one a fortnight. The grip arrives.
