The other side
A thirty-four-year-old whose mother still handles the laundry and keeps him on the family phone plan. The multigenerational household of history ran on shared labour and pooled wages, with grown children carrying the farm or the rent. Mild social pressure is what pushes some people to learn to run a household. Stigma does work. Remove it and the drift lasts years.
