The other side
A small firm takes on someone with no track record and absorbs weeks of slow, correctable work under a supervisor's eye. That supervision costs real money. The trainee leaves with a reference and a portfolio nobody would have handed over otherwise. Plenty of adults took that trade knowingly and would take it again. Banning the arrangement does not conjure paid roles. It shuts the door.
