Anyone who eats meat should have to kill an animal once
If you cannot watch the process, you are outsourcing your conscience.
This hill is unclaimed. Nobody is willing to die on it. Yet. First blood pending.
- Pay, and you hold it.
- Anyone can dethrone you for more.
- Every claim stays on the record.
No claims on the record.
The other side
Slaughter moved into trained hands because botched killing is cruel and dangerous. A frightened animal in the grip of an amateur dies slowly, and the amateur learns mostly that the knife slipped. Skill matters here. Requiring a rite of passage would multiply bad deaths for the sake of a feeling in the person holding the blade. Moral seriousness can come from studying how farms operate and refusing the cheapest meat.
