The other side
A late-term fetus loses the exact protection ethical veganism extends to a pig: a nervous system that registers harm matters morally. The pig qualifies on less. Holding both positions requires switching grounds midway, from sentience to bodily autonomy, and bodily autonomy is never accepted as a reason to kill a sentient animal anywhere else on the plate. The switch is the tell.
