Carrying a credit card balance is never worth it
This hill is unclaimed. Nobody is willing to die on it. Yet. First blood pending.
- Pay, and you hold it.
- Anyone can dethrone you for more.
- Every claim stays on the record.
No claims on the record.
The other side
Interest on a card accrues daily on whatever is left unpaid, and the issuer keeps extending credit while it does. That clock is a price. Sometimes the alternative price is higher: a repossessed car, or a payday loan renewed every two weeks until the fees exceed the loan. A working transmission earns money. Paying interest to keep it running is arithmetic that comes out ahead.
